Dr. Ali Taha Koç was born in Ankara in 1980. After finishing his undergraduate degree in 2001 at Bilkent University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with full scholarship, he completed his master's and doctorate studies in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas with full scholarship.
Koç joined Intel, USA in 2006 as a research and development (R&D) engineer. During his tenure at Intel, he developed 76 patents, published 23 scientific articles, and developed and managed several international projects. In 2013 Intel awarded Koç as one of the top 10 most patent inventor. After returning to Turkey in 2014. He started to work as the Chief Counselor of the Prime Ministry and in the same year he was appointed as the Head of Information Technologies of the Presidency. He also managed the formation of the State Information Coordination Center (SICC) in the Presidency Security Policies Department, and started the information flow from all ministries and security units to the Presidency.
With the Presidential decree published in the Official Gazette dated 12 September 2018, he was appointed as the Head of Digital Transformation Office. In addition to his duties at the Presidency, he is also a board member for Türksat Satellite Communications Cable TV and Business Inc. Koç teaches graduate and doctorate courses at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bilkent University.
He is also a licensed pilot, married and fluent in English.
